Does your favorite restaurant have what it takes to earn a Governor's HealthyRestaurant designation? We're looking for good restaurants that offer healthy food options, food safety, and a 100% tobacco-free environment to be honored as HealthyRestaurants.
Healthy, huh?
It's not just about the (delicious) "rabbit food," people. Healthy food options include daily servings of fruits and veggies as well as leaner cuts of meat, smart ingredient substitutions, and/or lower calorie cooking methods as a part of a balanced menu offering.

Why Eat at a HealthyRestaurant?
Making healthier food choices, reducing our exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and eating food that has been handled properly will reduce our risk of chronic disease such as heart disease and cancer as well as the incidence of food borne illness.
By recognizing establishments that make healthy options available to their customers, HealthyRestaurants demonstrate how we can make smart dining choices while still enjoying Kansas cuisine.

What's in it for the restaurants?
HealthyRestaurants receive HealthyRestaurant window decals and menu stickers, a certificate from the Governor to signify their status as a choice place to dine, and promotional recognition through a HealthyKansas press release and web profile.
Chambers of commerce and economic development organizations are also looking to HealthyRestaurants as a great promotional tool for the community, often nominating restaurants community-wide. Think creatively about how HealthyRestaurants can benefit not only the establishments and their customers but your community too.
